Cow Shed
Our diary farm is maintained by our cow shed staffs who stay in the cow shed. The cows are taken for grazing in our field. A milk man comes in early in the morning and in the evening for milking our cows. We also feed the cow with like grass/hay and supplements (minerals/vitamins) to support growth, maintenance, and especially milk production. Every year our cows give birth to 3-4 calves. We have three sheds to accommodate our cows. The milk is supplied to our Home children every day. The remaining is supplied to the nearby society for income generation.
Agriculture
The DSI project owns local land for the production of rice and vegetables to be consumed by the children and staff of DSI.
Our kitchen garden yields organic greens and vegetables such as drumstick, ladies finger and fruits like banana, from which the children are benefited.
Solar & Bio Gas Plant
At present we use solar energy for light in both homes campuses. We use solar water heater for home children. We have a bio-gas plant to supplement for cooking. In future, we plan to install more solar equipment.
